Record "Growth Strategies EP" at practice space, mixed by Matt Radosevich in Los Angeles .

Relocate from Davis to Sacramento.
Tour more.
Record 2 songs for Springman "Hella Tight" compilation @ practice space, mixed by AJ Wilhelm.

2005
Evan and Aaron graduate college, go on full-US Compassion in Action tour.
Jon Roberts departs BRL.
Recruit Noah Clark (formerly of the Dining Room Romance and Electric Badness) on drums.
Release "Touch" on Agent Records, October 2005 with 2 co-CD Release shows with Tera Melos.
6 week tour follows.

2004
Records “Numb Songs� (Acoustic).
Record "Numb Songs" at the Hangar, Sacramento with AJ Wilhelm.
Record 12-song full-length in 14 days with Alex Newport at Hothead Studios.

2003
First studio recording: "Suspension" at Bones and Knives studio, San Jose
Follow up with 3 song EP @ Bones and Knives, which still sounds raw.
Evan and Aaron start side-project "Compassion in Action" with George Zhu, who play a house party and in Aaron's room, before George is replaced by BRL-er Jon Roberts. Lineup is identical to BRL, except Evan is playing drums and Jon is playing keyboards.
First CIA show involves public consumption of a banana, Salinger, and Evan wearing a dress. Also, we played one song twice.
COMPASSION IN ACTION records 12-song, 20:20 full length "Territories" at practice space and apartment closet.

2002
Find a practice space in West Sacramento at a Hella show, which turns out to be two doors down from the Deftones, who own many Escalades.
Play first show at an apartment party; destroy equipment, bleed everywhere, kiss girls.
Record one of five versions "Declaration of Purpose" for compilation.
Record first EP "Ocean Ocean Ocean" at practice space from 12AM - 4AM.  Aaron sleeps through his Spanish final the next morning.

2001
Evan and Aaron meet in the UC Davis dormitory, determine after a mutual appreciation of Mr. Bungle that they will start a punk band, because "punk is the intersection of all genres."
Decide to name group "BRILLIANT RED LIGHTS", after a lyric in a Failure song.  #2 choice was "Ash Tree Lane", from the book House of Leaves.
First recording:  "Torreador" and "Well" are recorded in Aaron's dorm room with a drum machine, posted onto mp3.com.
Recruit Jon Roberts to play drums.
Have first full-band practice December 2001
